Overnight Accommodations will be with the Capuchins for 2 nights?
Rail stations are in Erith, for those who wish to join for the walk into London. This is a shorter walk of about 15 miles. Morning break at Lesnes Abbey ruins. Our lunch stop will be at Oxleas Wood Cafe, where one can savor a final glimpse of rolling green lawns and forest, before entering London. An afternoon riposo can be taken at either Greenwich Park (9.5 miles) or St. James, Hatcham/Goldsmiths University (11.5 miles).
We will end our walk at the Anglican Cathedral in Southwark and join the local community for evening prayer and dinner.Our group will return to Erith overnight and be driven back to London the following morning for a final Mass at St. George Cathedral on the Solemnity of the Stigmata of Saint Francis of Assisi, followed by a luncheon as part of a special 800th Franciscan Anniversary gathering, with a talk on how Franciscans bring the Resurrection of Jesus to the Crucified Places of the World Today!
